A visit with the Grands (and parents.)

The week before Easter Sunday, we had our two grandchildren from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania come for a visit.  Of course they brought their parents along.  Casey's 7th birthday was to be on the day they were to fly back home, so we had a birthday party for her here.  I was worried about rounding up enough kids to have one.  We don't know many folks here except for a niece and nephew who both have kids, but they couldn't make it.  It all turned out well though, as my daughter's old high school girlfriend brought hers and they happened to be the same age as our Grands.  We had an Easter egg hunt that they seemed to love.  A girl after my own heart wanted a Cheesecake for her birthday cake.  I made a wonderful NY style one from scratch and it was a hit with everyone.  Just in case someone did not like cheesecake, I made some cupcakes too.

Then on Good Friday we celebrated Easter with them.  I let the parents take charge of that as everyone does their own holiday traditions.  It was a lot of fun even though the rain dampened the egg hunt a tad.  Somehow the Easter bunny knew about the rain and hid most of the eggs under the carport and cemented areas.

In between those two celebratory days we plaed lots of H-O-R-S-E with the basketball.  Of course Grandma was the big loser!  :-)  We only had a couple of fires for making Smore's because of the rainy days.  I love when they come to visit!

  1. Sounds like a wonderful time spent with the grands! They are really growing up fast. Hope you stayed safe during all of the storms. That was some scary weather.

  2. Hey mom, it was great to visit you. I was also happy to get to see you again in Cleveland. Hope your return trip is going well :) Josh
